During the examination before the Magistrate into the case of Cheung A Chi, a Chinese named Cheung A Yo, said to be a relative of the other man, attended the Police Court voluntarily each day and finally presented himself as a witness for the defence. Very shortly after doing this, a demand for his extradition on a charge of piracy committed in 1880 was preferred. The demand having been made in regular form, Cheung A Yo was arrested, and an enquiry was made into his case also. The result of the enquiry has been still more unsatisfactory than that of Cheung A Chi.
